Senior Citizens Can Now Use Public Transport For Free
Passengers 70 years old and above can now ride public transportation for free, and those above 60 years old can ride public transportation at a 50% discount.
We love our Golden Age cinema and Golden Age music, but how about a little love for our Golden Age citizens? As a sign of appreciation for Egypt’s elderly population and to help reduce their financial burdens, all passengers aged 70 years old and above will now be able to use all modes of public transportation for free. No more having to check your pockets for spare change only to find out the fare went from EGP 5 to EGP 7 out of nowhere. Busses, metros, trams, monorails - as long as they present their valid National ID at the ticket counter, senior citizens will be able to go on and ride as they please.
Citizens who are aged 60 and above won't have to lament that they’re not old enough, either - they will be able to ride public transport at a 50% discount.
