‘Abdo & Saneya’ Trailer Revealed Ahead of Red Sea Premiere

The world premiere of 'Abdo & Saneya' will take place as part of the Arab Wonders program at the 4th Red Sea International Film Festival, running from December 5th to the 14th. Ahead of the premiere, the official trailer was released, offering a glimpse of the story of Abdo and Saneya, an Egyptian farming couple who move to New York City. Struggling with language barriers, illiteracy, and unfamiliarity with American life, they face the challenge of overcoming infertility. Their journey takes them from homelessness to working in global kitchens as they fight to survive in a fast-paced city.

'Abdo & Saneya' is the first contemporary silent film in the region, blending Middle Eastern and Western musical elements to reflect the harsh realities of an invisible immigrant minority in the US. The film stars Omar Bakri, Ingy El Gamal and Roger Hendricks Simon, with Omar Bakri directing and writing. The film's crew includes Vicente Roxas (cinematography), Salah Anwar (editing), and Alexander Azaria (score). Produced by Film Clinic, Chaconia Pictures, and Timewormz, and distributed by Film Clinic Independent Distribution in MENA, the film highlights themes of survival, globalization, and cultural clash.

The Red Sea Festival’s Arab Wonders program showcases significant contemporary cinema from the Arab world.
