Aswan Women's Film Festival Announces Grants for 10 Short Films

As part of the 'Aswan Cinema Workshops' program, the Aswan International Women's Film Festival is offering a logistical grant to support the production of 10 short films (narrative or documentary) for its 9th edition, which will take place from May 2nd to the 7th, 2025.

The program is open to filmmakers from Egypt and the Arab region, and will welcome projects in development, production or pre-production stages. Films submitted should be no longer than seven minutes and are expected to engage with themes such as violence against women, inequality, and social oppression, with a special emphasis on creators from Upper Egypt.

Selected projects will receive support from a specialized production advisory team, with 10 projects fully funded. Additional films will receive 50% or 25% funding.

The application form can be accessed via the festival's Instagram page at @aiwffestival as well as their website.
