Egyptian Film 'Safe Exit' Selected for Berlin Film Festival
The selection marks the world premiere of the Egyptian psychological thriller
Egyptian psychological thriller ‘Safe Exit’ has been selected for the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival, where it will world premiere.
Directed by Mohamed Hammad and starring Marwan Waleed, the film follows Samaan, a young security guard grappling with unresolved trauma after losing his parents to the religious and ethnic violence. As past and present collide, Safe Exit unfolds as an intimate study of memory, grief and survival.
The Panorama section is known for spotlighting socially engaged, formally daring cinema, positioning Safe Exit among Berlinale’s most politically and emotionally resonant selections this year.
