El Gouna Film Fest. Celebrates Youssef Chahine Centennial This Edition

El Gouna Film Festival’s Artistic Director Marianne Khoury, producer and niece of Youssef Chahine, has announced that the festival’s eighth edition (October 16–24, 2025) will mark the centennial of the legendary filmmaker.
The programme will spotlight Chahine’s influence on Arab cinema, particularly his role in inspiring self-reflective filmmaking. The celebration will also include an exhibition curated by Sherine Farghal, inspired by Cairo’s Ramses Station and Chahine’s classic film Cairo Station (El Bab El Hadid).
