Rare Carpets Worth AED 1.84 Billion to Be Displayed in Ras Al Khaimah
The collection includes over 3,000 Persian carpets, some dating back to the 17th century.
A stunning collection of over 3,000 Persian carpets, some dating back to the 17th century, will soon be showcased in Ras Al Khaimah by Ghanbarinia Carpet. Valued at approximately AED 1.84 billion (USD 500 million), the carpets represent centuries of Persian craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
These handwoven masterpieces, featuring intricate designs passed down through generations, are not just decorative pieces but powerful symbols of Persian artistry. Many of the carpets' motifs, including symbols from the Safavid dynasty, carry deep cultural and spiritual meanings. For example, the Shahabasi flower symbolises rebirth, while the central medallion represents life, balance, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.
The collection will be housed at Ghanbarinia Carpet’s first branch in Ras Al Khaimah, a heritage brand founded in 1841. Known for its commitment to sustainable craftsmanship, the carpets are made from natural fibres and dyed with plant-based colours, reflecting both Persian heritage and the UAE’s cultural preservation goals.
