15 Riyadh Squares to Be Named After Saudi Imams & Kings
The squares are strategically placed along major roads in Riyadh to celebrate those who shaped the Kingdom’s contemporary era.

15 prominent squares around Riyadh will be renamed after famous imams and modern kings of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud announced. The initiative aims to honour those who have helped establish the Kingdom within the past three centuries.
Among those named are Mohammed bin Saud, founder of the first Saudi state, and several subsequent historical imams including Abdulaziz bin Mohammed, Saud bin Abdulaziz, Abdullah bin Saud, Turki bin Abdullah, Faisal bin Turki, Abdullah bin Faisal and Abdulrahman bin Faisal.
Aside from imams, the following kings will also be honoured: King Abdulaziz, King Saud, King Faisal, King Khalid, King Fahd, King Abdullah and King Salman himself.
The decision follows the Kingdom’s annual Founding Day celebrations on February 22nd.
