152 New Parks & 33km of Cycling Tracks Coming to Dubai
The plan also provides for a range of community facilities designed to revive a contemporary version of the traditional “fareej” neighbourhood structure.
A large-scale urban development plan is set to bring 152 public parks and over 33 km of dedicated cycling tracks to communities across Dubai, reshaping local neighbourhoods around green space, pedestrian access and family-centred design. Under the model, the new parks will be concentrated across two major residential zones, with each home positioned no more than 150 metres from a green space. One area will dedicate around 11% of its land to open and landscaped spaces, while the second zone will feature an interconnected green corridor linking homes, recreation areas and essential services. The plan also provides for a range of community facilities — including gathering spaces, event halls and pedestrian networks — designed to revive a contemporary version of the traditional “fareej” neighbourhood structure. The initiative forms part of a wider emphasis on sustainable mobility, social cohesion and long-term urban planning unfolding across the emirate. Cycling and walking routes will connect parks, residential blocks and communal areas, helping integrate active mobility into everyday life.
