Artificial Intelligence to Be Added to UAE's Public School Curriculum
All UAE public school students from kindergarten to grade 12 will study AI starting in the 2025–2026 academic year.

Artificial intelligence will become a formal part of the UAE’s public school curriculum beginning in the 2025–2026 academic year. The course will be taught across all educational stages, from kindergarten through grade 12, with content ranging from foundational concepts to practical use and ethical concerns.
The move was announced by the Emirates News Agency and comes as the UAE doubles down on domestic AI development. Students will be introduced to AI’s real-world applications through lessons tailored to their age group. No additional hours will be added to the school day.
Over the last year, the UAE has significantly expanded its AI infrastructure, investing heavily in data centers and proposing an artificial intelligence fund that sources familiar with the matter say could reach USD 100 billion. In 2024, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman suggested the UAE could serve as a global testing ground for AI regulation.
The UAE joins a slew of other nations, including China, which have recently announced plans to teach AI in schools.
