Bahraini Landmarks Light Up With UAE Flag Colours for Eid Al Etihad
In celebration of Eid Al Etihad, Bahrain illuminated landmarks like the Bahrain Financial Harbour in the UAE flag colours.
In celebration of the 53rd Eid Al Etihad, several prominent landmarks across Bahrain have been illuminated with the colours of the UAE flag. Iconic structures such as the Bahrain World Trade Centre and the Ministry of Finance and National Security were bathed in red, green, white and black, reflecting the deep ties between the two nations.
Eid Al Etihad, also known as Union Day, is a national holiday in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that marks the unification of the seven emirates - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah - into a single nation. This historic event took place on December 2nd, 1971, under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The celebration commemorates not only the formation of the UAE, but also the country’s achievements in governance, economic development and international relations.
For several years, Bahrain has illuminated landmarks to celebrate Eid Al Etihad or other landmark moments for the UAE, such as the success of the UAE Hope Probe in reaching its Mars orbit. This gesture is also reciprocated, as the UAE adorns its landmarks with Bahrain’s colours during special occasions.
