Dubai Civil Defence Sets Guinness Record for Burj Khalifa Stair Climb
Firefighters used the stairs at the world’s tallest building to set the fastest recorded ascent time recognised as a Guinness World Record.

Dubai Civil Defence has set a Guinness World Record for the fastest ascent of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, using only the stairs. A team of firefighters completed 159 floors in 52 minutes and 30 seconds while wearing full firefighting gear that weighed approximately 15 kilograms.
The achievement adds to a growing portfolio of Guinness records held by the UAE in 2025, including the record for the highest altitude skydiving firework display at 5,260 metres, the largest flying LED screen formed with 5,983 drones, and the most runners in a mall run event with over 40,000 participants.
