A total of 1,000 educational institutions across Alexandria are set to run on solar energy by the end of 2027, with 500 of them scheduled to be fully solar-powered by the end of 2025.
As part of the Egyptian government’s 2030 Vision to localise solar panel manufacturing, the government plans to inaugurate two factories dedicated to producing solar panels and energy-saving LED bulbs in Alexandria.
Scheduled to begin operating by the end of November 2023, the solar panel factory will be established at Burj Al-Arab’s Technical Secondary School, providing students with opportunities to train in the production of solar panels. The LED bulb factory will be launched at Al-Ras Al Sawdaa Military Industrial School in Al-Montazah.
