Egypt's National Karate Team Wins 16 Medals at Karate1 Series A

It was the first time that this particular series has ever been held in Egypt, and it saw our national team take home five gold medals, three silver medals and eight bronze!

Egypt's National Karate Team Wins 16 Medals at Karate1 Series A

Talking about sweeping the leg! The Egyptian national karate team snatched sixteen medals in the Karate1 Series A competition, which took place at the Cairo International Stadium. It was the first time that this particular series has ever been held in Egypt, and it saw their national team take home five gold medals, three silver medals and eight bronze.


Amongst the gold medal winners, Asma Magdy came up top in the Female Kata Individual competition, while the female Kata team (made up of Asma Magdy, Noha Amr and Aya Hesham) shared a gold with their victory. In the Kumite category,  Mohamed Badawi won in the over-84 kg competition, Abdallah Hesham in the under-75 kg, while Habiba Helmy took the W in the over-68 kg.


Counting up the silver medal winners, we have the  Female Kata team (Jana Khamis, Habiba Ayman, Mariam el Azab) and the Male Kata team (Zeyad Abdelrahman, Mostafa Ghabashy,  Abdelrahman Hesham and Mohamed Hesham). Salma Yasser Kumite also won a silver medal individually in the under-55 kg contest.


Last but not least, the male bronze medal winners include Mahmoud Galal (over-84 kg),  Mohamed Sameh Abdel Meneim (under-84 kg), Mohamed Mahmoud (under-75 kg), Moemen Mohamed (under-67 kg), Amro Alaa (under-60 kg), Abdelrahman Abdallah (under-60 kg). The female bronze winners meanwhile include Sara Hussein (under-68 kg) and Maysara Bayoumi (over-68 kg).
