Eight-Year-Old Kickboxer Ranked Sixth Globally After World Cup
Eight-year-old Abdelhafez Omar Badry secured silver in Turkey, earning a global top-six ranking.
Eight-year-old Egyptian kickboxer Abdelhafez Omar Badry has been ranked sixth globally in his age and weight category after winning a silver medal at the Kickboxing World Cup for Clubs in Turkey.
Badry competed in the Point Fight discipline in the 30 kg division, with the result placing him among the top-ranked athletes worldwide in his category.
Mohamed Alwan, Governor of Assiut, said the medal secured Badry a sixth-place global ranking and described him as the youngest international champion in Egypt at this weight.
Badry, who is registered with Dronka Youth Centre, has previously won first place at both African and Arab levels, in addition to multiple national and sector championships.
The governor also commended the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Assiut, led by Ahmed Sweifi, along with the athlete’s coaching and support teams for their role in his preparation and performance.
