Emirati Innovator Designs AI Programme to Represent UAE’s Culture
The software can replicate the traditional Emirati dress, such as the kandura, as well as famous cultural landmarks, with an unprecedented level of detail.
A new AI platform designed by Emirati media manager Abdulla Alsharhan is setting a new standard in accurately showcasing the UAE’s culture, heritage, and landmarks. The ‘Create With Shams’ AI, developed in Sharjah Media City, aims to address the lack of authentic Emirati representations in the artificial intelligence space. With the power to generate 12K images, the platform provides exceptional clarity and precision, making it ideal for large-scale prints and digital displays.
Alsharhan, who spent two years perfecting the software, highlighted its unique ability to replicate the traditional Emirati dress, such as the kandura, as well as famous cultural landmarks, with an unprecedented level of detail. Unlike other AI tools, ‘Create with Shams’ understands Arabic traditions and accurately interprets cultural nuances, making it a game-changer for creatives in the UAE looking for authentic local imagery.
The platform has already been used in practical applications, such as creating a promotional video for Al Fayy Restaurant & Cafe. Additionally, its high-resolution images allow companies to use AI-generated visuals in large-scale advertising on buildings, a feature not typically available in standard AI services.
Another standout feature of the platform is its customization options. Users can manipulate and replace parts of an image, such as transforming a person’s appearance or changing backgrounds, without needing to start from scratch. This capability offers significant time-saving benefits for creatives and advertisers alike.
Alsharhan’s platform has undergone testing with 1,700 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), ensuring its practicality and reliability. It also includes child-friendly safeguards to prevent the generation of inappropriate content.
Currently available for use in Sharjah Media City, the platform will soon offer an online version, allowing users to prompt the AI in both English and Arabic, further expanding its accessibility.
