The new metro line is planned to be a smarter, greener and more accessible transportation option for Cairenes.
The first 12 stations of Cairo's Metro Line 4 are set to commence operations in early 2027. Constructed by Egyptian teams adhering to international standards, Metro Line 4 is designed to provide smart, green, and accessible transit solutions.
The line will be developed in two phases. The first phase spans from Hadayek El Ashgar to Fustat, covering 19 kilometres and 17 stations. This phase is further divided into two sections: the initial stretch from Hadayek El Ashgar to El Masah, encompassing 12 stations, and the subsequent extension from El Masah to Fustat.
Key stations in the first section include Hadayek El Ashgar, the Grand Egyptian Museum, El Remaya Square, Mariouteya and El Masah. To ensure inclusivity, the metro line will feature accessibility enhancements such as electric elevators to support elderly passengers and individuals with special needs.
