Gypto Pharma to Help Egypt Become Regional Hub for Pharmaceuticals
The new industrial complex is meant to achieve drug security for Egypt, produce effective, safe medicines, and localise the pharmaceutical industry.
Egypt is constructing a new industrial complex called 'Gypto Pharma', which is planned to transform Egypt into a regional hub for medical production and exports.
The complex is meant to achieve drug security for Egypt, produce effective, safe medicines, and localise the pharmaceutical industry by putting mechanisms in place for strategic partnerships with global firms.
By developing the drug industry to support Egypt’s national plan for Vision 2030, 'Gypto Pharma' not only represents an ambitious economic target, but a defence line for public health. It is also expected to contribute heavily to the ‘Haya Karima’ initiative to improve quality of life for rural areas.
Currently, Egypt represents 16% of the pharmaceutical markets in the MENA region, making it one of the larger markets in the Middle East.
