Hend Sabry’s ‘Four Daughters’ Nominated for Oscar’s Best Documentary

Tunisian hybrid documentary ‘Four Daughters’, starring Egyptian-Tunisian superstar Hend Sabry, has been nominated for the Academy Awards' Best Documentary category.

Directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, ‘Four Daughters’ weaves documentary with fiction, following the story of a Tunisian mother, Olfa Hamrouni (Hend Sabry), whose two daughters disappear and allegedly join the terrorist group ISIS.

Four Daughters’ also scored three awards at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, including the Positive Cinema Award, which recognises films that inspire hope, resilience and social change.
