Historic Jeddah Unveils New Tourism Products at World Travel Market

The Jeddah Historic District Program is showcasing new tourism products and interactive experiences for Historic Jeddah at the World Travel Market in London, running from November 4th to 6th. The program aims to position the district as a leading cultural and tourism destination for global industry stakeholders.

Among the highlights are curated guided routes such as the Historic Pilgrimage Route, tracing Jeddah’s role as the gateway to the Two Holy Mosques. The route connects ten archaeological sites through immersive storytelling, with digital displays accessible via QR codes that reveal the histories behind landmarks, architecture, and rare artefacts.

Special tourism packages for the upcoming teamLab Borderless Museum are also being promoted, alongside Historic Jeddah’s page on Google Arts & Culture, which offers virtual tours of its heritage landmarks. The World Travel Market drew over 40,000 industry specialists last year, and this year’s participation underscores the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to amplify Historic Jeddah’s global presence and highlight progress made under the strategic development project launched in 2021 by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as part of Vision 2030.

Located in central Jeddah on the Red Sea coast, Al-Balad stands as one of the region’s oldest settlements and a historic hub for pilgrims and traders. Its distinctive Hijazi architecture, from wooden rawasheen and coral-stone buildings to bustling souqs, earned it a UNESCO World Heritage inscription in 2014. Since its establishment in 2018, the Jeddah Historic District Program has continued to restore its architectural legacy while reactivating public spaces and cultural life across the district.
