Ma’ila National Park Undergoes Restoration & Development
The project combines ecological restoration with new visitor infrastructure in the Northern Borders region.
Ma’ila National Park is undergoing ecological restoration and infrastructure development as part of efforts to position it as a key natural destination.
The programme is led by the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification and covers an area of more than 25 million square metres.
Infrastructure works include the development of buildings and water networks, along with more than 50 seating areas and over five restroom facilities to improve visitor services.
The site is also being prepared as an eco-investment destination, with opportunities identified across multiple locations and steps underway to finalise development and operation contracts.
Environmental efforts focus on restoring vegetation through seed dispersal and planting native species, including sidr, acacia and ghada, alongside other pasture plants.
A regulated grazing system has been introduced to maintain ecological balance and support soil regeneration.
