NCW & YouTube Join Forces to Promote Safe Digital Spaces for Women
The NCW and YouTube will host a series of workshops and meetings to create a community of Egyptian women content creators.
The National Council for Women (NCW) and YouTube have announced an ongoing collaboration to promote safe internet practices and digital spaces for female content creators.
The partnership was announced in light of Safer Internet Day, which aims to mitigate various forms of cyber violence, including bullying, harassment and extortion. According to Maya Morsi, NCW’s president, the collaboration is part of the council’s efforts to combat violence against women across all levels of society.
The NCW and YouTube will host a series of workshops and meetings to create a community of Egyptian women content creators, and encourage them to speak out and share their experiences online. The NCW will also be the first Egyptian entity to join YouTube’s Trusted Flagger programme, which will allow them to directly report offensive content.
