National Media Authority Bans Hosting Fortune Tellers on TV Channels

Egypt’s National Media Authority has issued a ban on hosting fortune tellers and astrologers across all of its channels, radio stations, and online platforms.
The decision was made by Ahmed Al-Muslimani, head of the National Media Authority, who called for future outlooks to be based on scientific thinking, logic, and political science, urging the involvement of experts, academics, and intellectuals.
Al-Muslimani also emphasized the need for the media to avoid promoting the myths and superstitions of astrologers, regardless of their fame. He stated that these individuals “aim to undermine reason, trivialize knowledge, and build false reputations on baseless and random predictions.”
He concluded by reinforcing the media’s responsibility to confront ignorance, promote scientific knowledge, and uphold logical reasoning.
