The 1 Billion Followers Summit has announced the One Billion Award, a USD 1 million prize recognizing content creators worldwide who make a positive impact.
Organised by Dubai’s New Media Academy, the Summit will take place from January 11th to the 13th, 2025, with the winner of the award set to be announced on the final day. Applications are open until November 30th, with submissions available on the official website.
Under the theme ‘Content for Good’, the award highlights the potential of social media to foster unity, compassion and impactful messaging without borders. Eligibility requirements for the award focus on content that provides scientific, cultural, humanitarian and social value. Submissions should promote unity, support sustainability, and embody compassion and empathy while meeting standards for originality, quality and audience engagement.
A panel will judge entries from December 1st to December 15th, narrowing down submissions to 10 finalists. Public voting for the finalists will open on December 16th and run through December 31st, with these votes contributing to the final decision that will be revealed in January.
This year’s Summit will feature three tracks - technology, economy and content - that are designed to provide valuable insights for content creators across experience levels. Aiming to engage over one billion people, the Summit unites global influencers to discuss media’s role in driving societal progress and economic growth.
