New Thukher Club Opens in Al Khawaneej for Senior Citizens
Operated by the Community Development Authority, the branch offers programmes, health initiatives and social spaces in Dubai.
A new branch of the Thukher Club has opened in Al Khawaneej, offering integrated facilities and programmes for senior citizens focused on wellbeing, learning and community engagement.
The initiative has been launched under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and is overseen by the Community Development Authority as part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, introduced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
According to the authority, the new branch includes activity and workshop halls, social spaces, and a range of cultural and educational programmes. It also features health and wellness initiatives, alongside sports and recreational activities designed to support active lifestyles.
The programmes aim to encourage lifelong learning and enhance participation among senior citizens, while providing opportunities for intergenerational exchange through shared experiences and knowledge.
The project was developed in collaboration with multiple government entities, including Dubai Police, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and Dubai Sports Council.
