RTA Launches Major Upgrades to Entry & Exit Points in Four Dubai Areas

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has launched a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing access to four key residential areas in the city. This ambitious project will improve entry and exit points, contributing to reduced journey times and an increase in road capacity by up to 80% upon completion.

The upgraded access points will connect the neighbourhoods of Nadd Hessa, Al Awir 1, Al Barsha South, and Wadi Al Safa 3 to major roadways including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Emirates Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Hessa Street. These improvements are set to serve more than 400,000 residents, reducing congestion and facilitating smoother commutes.

In an announcement via X, RTA emphasised that the project aligns with the leadership's directives to improve infrastructure in residential areas and support the city's urban expansion. The initiative is part of RTA's broader commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents by modernising road networks, lighting, and stormwater drainage systems to meet the growing demands of a rapidly expanding population.

Upon completion, the access upgrades are expected to enhance the overall road capacity by 50% to 80%, offering significant relief to residents and commuters across these neighbourhoods.
