Saudi Arabia Will Join Miss Universe Pageant for the First Time

For the first time, Saudi Arabia’s flag will fly on the Miss Universe stage with the participation of Saudi supermodel Rumy Alqahtani.

Born in Riyadh, Alqahtani has participated in many global beauty pageants, the most recent being the Miss and Mrs Global Asian pageant in Malaysia. In the Instagram post announcing her participation in the Miss Universe competition, the 27-year-old wrote that she is honoured to represent her country in the 2024 edition of the event.

In 2023, 84 countries sent representatives to the international event, which was ultimately won by Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua.
