Saudi Energy Ministry Releases Dictionary With Arabic Language Academy.
The Saudi Energy Ministry, in partnership with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL), has launched the Energy Terminology Dictionary.
The dictionary includes over 1,500 specialised terms, pertaining to over eight energy fields, in both Arabic and English. The fields encompass gas and petrol, atomic and nuclear energy, as well as terminology relating to sustainability, electricity, renewable energy, common units of measurement, names of entities and initiatives in the energy sector, alongside common abbreviations.
The dictionary will serve as a resource for researchers and industry professionals for the standardisation of energy-related terms in English and Arabic, and to showcase the richness of the Arabic language.
Created by qualified Saudi nationals in the energy sector, and then reviewed and approved by a specialised linguistic team, the Ministry and KSGAAL will continue to update the dictionary to reflect the latest industry developments.
