Saudi Midday Work Ban for Private Sector Begins June 15th
The Ministry of Human Resources enforces annual summer restrictions, mandating a midday break from 12 PM to 3 PM.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), in coordination with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, will enforce a midday work ban for all private-sector establishments from June 15th to September 15th, 2025. The regulation prohibits outdoor work between 12 PM and 3 PM, during peak summer heat hours.
The annual measure is part of ongoing efforts to protect workers from heat-related health risks and align with international occupational safety standards. Employers are required to revise work schedules accordingly and implement safety measures that help prevent injuries and ensure compliance.
To support implementation, the Ministry has published detailed safety guides on its official website. Reports of violations can be submitted through the MHRSD’s hotline (19911) or via its mobile application.
