UAE Elected to Chair INTERPOL’s New Committee on Governance

The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Interior, has been elected to chair the Committee on Governance, a pivotal advisory body of INTERPOL, marking a significant milestone in the nation's ongoing commitment to global security and effective international cooperation.

The Committee on Governance, a newly established standing committee, plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the governance structure of INTERPOL, ensuring that the organization operates effectively to meet its strategic objectives.

Lieutenant Colonel Dana Humaid Al Marzouqi, Director General of the International Affairs Office at the Ministry of Interior, secured an impressive 67% of the votes during the INTERPOL committee session held at its headquarters in Lyon, France.

As the first country to chair this standing committee, the UAE will lead critical discussions on reviewing the INTERPOL Statute, General Regulations, and related documents. It will provide valuable insights and advice to the General Assembly, ensuring the continued strength and integrity of INTERPOL's operations.

The UAE’s two-year term as Chair will further solidify its position as a key player in international law enforcement cooperation, contributing to the effective development of INTERPOL and supporting the broader global security framework.
