UAE Public Schools to Hold Remote Classes on Fridays During Ramadan
The program, titled ‘Ramadan with Family’, aims to foster a spiritual and supportive environment.

Public schools in the UAE will transition to remote learning on Fridays during Ramadan 2025, as part of an initiative by the Ministry of Education to encourage family unity and reinforce the values of the holy month. The program, titled ‘Ramadan with Family’, aims to provide students with an opportunity to engage in educational activities from home while fostering a spiritual and supportive environment.
This initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader vision of creating an inspiring family and community atmosphere during Ramadan. The shift will take effect on the first Friday of Ramadan, with all students, except those scheduled for exams, taking part in online classes.
Students required to sit for in-person exams on Fridays will follow their designated schedules, attending school as usual. Teaching staff will also continue reporting to schools on Fridays to ensure operational continuity. For parents who prefer their children to attend in-person classes, schools will remain open, though families must arrange their own transportation. Teachers will be available to supervise and support students opting for on-site learning.
To facilitate a smooth transition, a comprehensive guidance manual has been developed to assist students and parents in navigating the remote learning format. The manual includes curriculum-based activities that emphasize cultural and religious themes.
