UAE Ranks Among Top Global Leaders in Healthcare Excellence

The UAE has emerged as a leader in global healthcare, ranking first in 2025 for the number of accredited healthcare facilities worldwide.

According to official data from the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the UAE now ranks among the top 10 countries globally across 21 health indicators. Regionally, the UAE holds the top position, while globally, it ranks 20th for overall healthcare quality.

This progress comes after sustained strategic investments in the healthcare sector, with AED 5.745 billion—representing 8% of the federal budget—allocated for healthcare and community prevention services in 2025. Further projections show that healthcare spending will reach AED 151 billion by 2029, growing at an annual rate of 6.7%.

By 2028, the UAE’s healthcare expenditure is expected to hit USD 26 billion, with an additional AED 118 billion set to be invested in the sector by 2027. These funds are focused on enhancing infrastructure and strengthening public-private partnerships, with digital transformation and the growing medical tourism sector playing a key role in boosting the country’s healthcare capabilities.
