Major UAE retailers have confirmed that supplies are sufficient to meet public demand following regional unrest and the closure of airspace, with no price increases reported across essential goods.
Supermarket chains including LuLu Group International and Al Maya Group have stated that supply chains remain unaffected, with procurement and logistics teams working with local and international suppliers to maintain stock levels. Both retailers reported a significant spike in online orders and higher sales of essentials including water, rice, milk, fresh vegetables, and fresh meat.
The announcements follow an earlier statement from the UAE Ministry of Economy, which confirmed that the country’s strategic reserves of essential commodities are sufficient to meet domestic needs, and urged the public to purchase only what is necessary and avoid stockpiling.
