Wheelchair Assistance Training Completed at Grand Mosque
More than 5,000 trainees took part in the first phase of a Ramadan programme in Makkah.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has completed the first phase of a wheelchair assistance training programme for workers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah during Ramadan.
The phase included 49 training sessions held over 12 days, divided into 24 morning sessions and 25 evening sessions. A total of 5,200 trainees involved in wheelchair services participated in the programme.
The training was delivered through the Daifi (My Guest) programme and forms part of broader efforts to strengthen on-the-ground services for worshippers. According to the authority, the initiative is designed to improve field performance efficiency, raise safety standards and enhance the overall experience for visitors to the Grand Mosque.
The curriculum focused on communication skills, professionalism and discipline among wheelchair leaders, organisers and field supervisors. Sessions combined theoretical instruction with practical application to standardise procedures and align service conduct.
The authority stated that the programme also supports crowd management, particularly during peak seasons when visitor numbers increase. The completed phase forms part of an ongoing effort to modernise operational models and reinforce service quality at the Grand Mosque.
