White House Rejects Egypt’s Gaza Reconstruction Proposal
Egypt will also be hosting another international reconstruction conference in April.

The Extraordinary Arab League Summit on the reconstruction of Gaza concluded on Tuesday, with Egyptian leaders proposing a two-phase USD 53 billion plan to reconstruct Gaza over an estimated five-year period without displacing the Palestinian population.
If accepted, the first phase of the deconstruction plan - such as de-mining and rubble removal - is set to conclude as soon as 2027.
The White House recently rejected the proposal, claiming that Gaza is currently “uninhabitable” and that residents "cannot humanely live in a territory covered in debris and unexploded ordnance,” according to National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes. The White House further claims that US President Trump “stands by his vision to rebuild Gaza free from Hamas.”
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi recently announced that Egypt will be hosting another international reconstruction conference in April.
