1,000 Drones to Illuminate the Skies During Dubai Shopping Festival
Dubai Shopping Festival launches on December 6th with nightly drone shows and firework displays.
The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) returns for its 30th edition, bringing nightly drone shows to the city’s skyline. Beginning on Friday, December 6th and running until Sunday, January 12th, the shows will take place at Bluewaters Island and The Beach, JBR, with two performances each evening at 8 PM and 10 PM.
The first series of shows, running from December 6th to the 26th, will highlight the festival’s three-decade history. This includes a special feature from December 6th to the 12th, where a scannable QR code will appear in the sky, allowing personalised messages to be displayed by drones on December 13th.
From December 27th to January 12th, the focus will shift to Dubai’s achievements, showcasing iconic landmarks through intricate drone formations. On December 13th, 150 pyro drones will be accompanied by skydivers for a special display, with an encore set for January 11th.
The festivities extend beyond the drone shows, with daily fireworks lighting up Dubai Festival City Mall at 9:15 PM, and additional displays twice a week over Hatta on weekends.
