Dubai Run 2024 Draws Record-Breaking 278,000 Participants
Led by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, the event transformed Dubai’s 14-lane highway into a runner’s haven.
A record-breaking 278,000 participants took to Sheikh Zayed Road on Sunday morning for the sixth annual Dubai Run, led by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai. The event transformed the 14-lane highway into a runner’s haven, with participants enjoying views of Dubai’s iconic skyline.
This year’s event introduced a breathtaking twist, with paragliders soaring above the runners, adding to the spectacle. Participants chose between a 5KM or 10KM route, both starting near the Museum of the Future. The shorter trail passed Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera, finishing near Dubai Mall, while the longer route included Dubai Canal Bridge and ended near DIFC Gate.
Since its launch in 2017 as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, Dubai Run has grown to become the world’s largest fun run. This year’s turnout marked a 23% increase from 2023, showcasing Dubai’s growing reputation as a global hub for wellness and community spirit.
