The Stars of Dubai’s Summer Restaurant Week 2024

If you’re a foodie roaming around downtown, then there’s no doubt that Dubai Summer Restaurant Week 2024 - during which over 60 restaurants will be offering special deals on their set menu experiences - has already tickled your fancy. Running from August 23rd until September 1st, we whipped up this guide to help you make the most of the foodie portion of Dubai’s Summer Surprises. These eight participating restaurants are serving flavours from all over the world, so you can travel the globe without even leaving the city.

CHIVAL GLOBAL SOCIAL

Chival Global Social presents a refreshingly health-conscious menu, using exclusively locally-sourced ingredients, inside a chic and stylish establishment. The lunch menu offers dishes like a lamb rump herb crust, broccolini and potato cream, and an authentic rigatoni Napolitano with tomato, rosemary and olive oil. The dessert menu features a mouth-watering poached pear dish with vanilla ice cream, sable and chocolate brittle, and the dinner menu extends to include a truffle gnocchi, a beef cheek bourguignon, and a bittersweet goat’s cheese and blood orange salad.

LANA LUSA

Next stop, Lisbon. Book a dinner at Lana Lusa for the cheapest trip to Europe of your life. Lana Lusa specialises in centuries-old Portuguese recipes, elevated for a fine-dining experience. We’ve got our eyes on the oven-cooked duck rise, and the salted cod fish with potatoes, as well as a classic pastel de nata and a creamy traditional sweet treat made from coffee and condensed milk.

COUQLEY FRENCH BISTRO

From Lisbon to Paris, Couqley French Bistro, located at the JLT Movenpick Hotel, is a premium Parisian bistro, bringing the flavours of the City of Love all the way to Dubai. Perfect for a romantic anniversary celebration, why not make an occasion of it and spend the weekend at the hotel. Lounge by the pool by day, and enjoy a classic coq au vin or bouillabaisse by night.

SOCIAL

Next, let’s speed to Rome, and when in Rome, why not do as the Romans do and treat yourself to an authentic Italian dinner? Situated inside the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Beach Jumeirah, Social was awarded one toque in the Gault & Millau Guide of 2023, and Chef Carmine Faravolo’s menu is always seasonally curated to celebrate the freshest ingredients on the market.

THE FIFTH FLAVOUR

The fifth flavour on this list is… drumroll please…The Fifth Flavour. No seriously. With a menu inspired by East Asian traditions, highlights include their pulled beef, their mushroom with egg and garlic fried rice, and their Fun Guy bao bun. But don’t forget dessert! As well as a decadent chocolate mousse, the Fifth Flavour is offering a most intriguing baby peach, lemongrass and ginger sorbet, drizzled with coriander oil, named Wakamomo.

PURANI DILLI

So we’ve covered Europe and East Asia, so perhaps let’s pivot to explore South Asia. Purani Dilli’s lunch and dinner menus hail from the streets of Old Delhi, but you can have a taste just inside Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai. Every dish uses distinct homemade spices, and although their most popular dishes are an overnight marinated garlic chicken starter and a mutton Rogan Josh, there are plenty of vegetarian options on offer.

BESH TURKISH KITCHEN

Focussing on traditional Turkish cuisine with a modern touch, Besh Turkish Kitchen prides itself an authentic menu and stylish presentation. Make a trip to the Sheraton Mall of the Emirates to enjoy a Turkish meal with a view of the kitchen, so you can watch your food be prepared in real time.

11 WOODFIRE

The last spot on our list goes to 11 Woodfire. Very well-deserved we think, because 11 Woodfire has one Michelin Star to its name, so at AED 95 or AED 150, a meal here will be one of the biggest bargains on offer during Dubai Summer Restaurant Week. 11 Woodfire is based around the concept of gathering around a warm fire, so it is sure to make a cosy night out for you and a loved one.
