This edition of Rap of The Week brings you the latest rap releases from around the MENA region, featuring Egyptian Grammy-nominated producer, rapper and singer Hady Moamer with his track ‘7abba’ ft. Bayou, where he lays down rapid-fire flows on the bonus track from his genre-bending EP, ‘Zekrayat ElMostabal’.
Alexandria-based rapper RVWVN also makes her way onto the playlist with her latest release ‘Kx Kdv’, where her nonchalant lyricism shines over a spacious trap beat, while Sudanese rapper Beykay’s ‘Figures’ sees the rapper striking a balance between vulnerability and showmanship with his dynamic vocals and energetic adlibs.
Mixing between her old-school and contemporary influences, Lebanese rapper Sabine Salamé is also featured on this week’s selection, as her assertive flows blend seamlessly with the smooth trap instrumental, produced by Mumna, on her track ‘Al Chanta’ from her latest album ‘Taffe Daw’.
