Dubai Makes History with World's First Jet Suit Race
A recent live demonstration at Burj Park featuring three jet suit competitors offered a glimpse into the event's potential.
Dubai will soar into the history books with the inaugural "Dubai Jet Suit Race". For this sporting event, participants will be propelled into the air by jet-powered suits and have to navigate a predetermined course in a competitive race format.
The race will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, and organized by the Dubai Sports Council in collaboration with Gravity Industries.
Eight competitors, including Emirati racer Ahmed Al Shehhi, will partake in this round, testing their skills and pushing the boundaries of this emerging technology. The competition itself will test more than just speed. Maneuverability, accuracy, and strategic flight will all play crucial roles in determining the champion.
While live viewing will be available at Dubai Harbor, the event will be broadcasted globally. And as safety remains paramount, organizers will be collaborating with Gravity Industries to ensure specially designed suits with essential safety features.
Pioneers in jet suit development and racing, Gravity Industries will bring their expertise to the event, further solidifying Dubai's position as a global hub for innovative and cutting-edge activities. The company aims to create a spectacle that transcends traditional sporting experiences, leaving audiences awe-struck by the capabilities of both human and machine.
