Granita: The Restaurant Inside Zamalek's All Saint's Cathedral

Roaming through Zamalek’s narrow streets, brimming with greenery and hidden cultural nooks, lies a restaurant nestled inside All Saint’s Cathedral. Consecrated in 1988, the church is the home of the Episcopal/Anglican Diocese of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa - as well as the classic Zamalek hangout spot, Granita.

While the restaurant is often filled to capacity - a waitlist is basically part of the deal - Granita’s atmosphere is heavenly. The church’s sermons often echo through the restaurant, mixed with their resident pianist’s nightly performances to immerse visitors in a unique sonic and dining experience.

Granita offers traditional Egyptian breakfast options, Asian delicacies, and French cuisine Their bakery also serves a myriad of desserts. The next time you're looking for a divine brunch, you can find Granita at Meshel Lotf Allah street in Zamalek.
