Album Spotlight: Perrie - infinity
We sat down with Perrie to talk about her latest album, which blends genres and pushes creative boundaries to inspire joy and dance.
Perrie is an artist who has always worn her versatility on her sleeve. From making her mark in Egypt’s rap and alternative scenes to venturing into music producing on projects like ‘Trauma’, she’s now taken her independence further than ever with her new self-produced album, ‘infinity’.
The album moves fluidly between genres - a reflection of Perrie’s resistance to labels and creative limits. Drawing on synth-pop, techno influences, and funky guitar riffs, ‘infinity’ paints a dynamic picture of the sounds that shaped its creation. When asked about the album’s origins, Perrie explained that her earlier work had always been inspired by personal struggles. But when those challenges faded, she finally had room to create just for the joy of it. Her aim with ‘infinity’? To make music that could get her dancing.
Perrie also shared her thoughts on the music industry today, pointing to a lack of risk-taking and authenticity. Too much music, she says, feels rushed and repetitive - leaving space for something more daring.
