GFF to Honour Menna Shalaby with Creative Achievement Award
The award is presented annually to artists whose body of work has left a lasting mark on cinema.

El Gouna Film Festival has announced that Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby will receive the Creative Achievement Award at its eighth edition, running October 16th to 24th, 2025. The award is presented annually to artists whose body of work has left a lasting mark on cinema.
Over a career spanning more than 40 films and 20 television dramas, Shalaby has played roles across comedy, tragedy, romance, and social drama, making her one of the most prominent and versatile actresses of her generation.
She collaborated with leading Egyptian filmmakers in Banat West El Balad (2005, Mohamed Khan), Heya Fawda (2007, Youssef Chahine), and After the Battle (2012, Yousry Nasrallah).
Shalaby has also served on international juries, including the official competition at Carthage (2014), and the feature film competition at El Gouna in its fifth (2021) and seventh (2024) editions, affirming her standing as one of the leading figures in contemporary Arab cinema.
