Rology Wins Meta’s AMET AI Prize for Advancing Teleradiology in Egypt

Rology emerged as the grand prize winner of Meta’s AMET AI Accelerator Pitch Competition, concluding this year’s regional AI Summit in Dubai. The Egypt-based startup, known for its AI-powered teleradiology platform, received $100,000 and access to Meta’s partner engineering resources following a multi-country competition focused on applied AI solutions.

Rology’s system automates X-ray report generation through a model designed to replicate clinical reasoning, aiming to support radiologists facing rising diagnostic workloads. The platform was selected from finalists representing Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Senegal, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and the UAE. Each participating company completed a national accelerator over six to eight weeks before advancing to the final pitch.

Meta has positioned the program as part of a broader effort to strengthen AI capacity across the AMET region. Speaking at the summit, Kojo Boakye, Meta’s Vice President of Public Policy for Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye, highlighted the role of localised development and open models in shaping new applications.

“Through regional initiatives like the AMET AI Accelerator, our Llama family of models, and AI-driven products and platforms, we’re empowering developers, startups, and researchers to create localised AI-powered solutions with wider social and economic impact at scale," Boakyes said. "We’re proud to see startups from across AMET use and build with our technologies to respond to local needs with regional and global potential.”

This year’s finalists showcased a wide range of use cases, from healthcare and financial analytics to agri-commerce, education, and public services. Their inclusion signals increasing interest in AI tools built for regional infrastructure and sector-specific challenges. For Rology, the program offers additional technical support as it continues developing its platform within the broader shift toward AI-enabled clinical workflows.
