AlUla has been awarded the title of World’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project 2025 at this year’s World Travel Awards, the highest accolade in the annual ceremony. The decision was made by a panel of international travel-industry experts, tour operators and travel agents after a competitive selection process.

The recognition comes after a busy year of achievements for AlUla, which already claimed regional honours including Middle East Leading Cultural Tourism Project 2025, Leading Festival and Event Destination 2025, and Saudi Arabia’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project 2025.

Known for its dramatic desert scenery and rich heritage, AlUla is home to one of the Middle East’s most significant cultural sites: Hegra — Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site — famed for its Nabataean tombs.
