Egypt's First Plasma Factory to Be Built in New Administrative Capital
The factory will help the Egyptian government treat patients affected by viruses and diseases such as COVID-19 and cancer.
Egypt’s first plasma factory will soon be established in the New Administrative Capital.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, many patients suffered side-effects from the virus, many of which affected the heart and the brain in particular. Plasma is an essential component to the human body, as it carries nutrients to the blood, and helps combat many major diseases.
The Egyptian government has been importing plasma derivatives for the last few years, which has played a large role in treating those who have been affected by COVID-19, as well as those suffering from bleeding disorders or cancer.
The march to establish the first Egyptian plasma factory has already begun. The project has been in the works for many years, and will be split into two establishments: one to separate the plasma from the red and white blood cells, and another to extract derivatives from it.
