First Phase of Major Parking Project Begins in Riyadh
The Riyadh Municipality will establish 24,000 new public parking spaces on commercial streets to stimulate economic activity.
The Riyadh Municipality has announced the launch of the first phase of their Riyadh Parking Project. The project intends to enhance public quality of life by organising and improving parking infrastructure, thus ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.
The debut phase will establish 24,000 new public parking spaces on commercial streets, as well as manage 140,000 existing spaces in twelve surrounding residential neighbourhoods.
The project seeks to stimulate economic activity by increasing automotive accessibility to commercial areas. The project will also see the installation of digital solutions to keep track of the number and location of vacant parking spaces at any given time.
The Riyadh Parking Project will contribute to Saudi Arabia’s sustainability goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030, in addition to contributing to efforts to make the capital a smart city.
