Green Initiative to Plant 500,000 Trees Launched in Eastern Region
The trees and flowers selected for this campaign will be locally suitable plants, ensuring a sustainable approach.
The Eastern Region Municipality has launched an ambitious green initiative aimed at planting over 500,000 trees and 3 million flowers across Dammam’s streets and parks. The initiative, announced in conjunction with National Greening Season, is designed to enhance air quality, reduce urban heat and boost biodiversity.
This effort, supported by 30 volunteers, is in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which seeks to increase green spaces and promote sustainable environmental development. It also aligns with the national afforestation campaign under the Saudi Green Initiative, which aims to combat desertification and enhance vegetation cover throughout the Kingdom.
The trees and flowers selected for this campaign will be locally suitable plants, ensuring a sustainable approach to landscaping and fostering environmental balance.
