Madinah Hydroponic Farm Surpasses Two Million KG in Annual Production
The facility cuts fertiliser use by up to 60% and water consumption by as much as 90%.

A hydroponic farm in Madinah has produced more than two million kg of fresh vegetables and herbs, setting a new benchmark for sustainable agriculture in Saudi Arabia. Spanning 183,000 sq m with 20 air-conditioned grow halls, the farm cultivates lettuce, celery, rosemary, wild thyme, and basil using advanced hydroponic systems.
The facility cuts fertiliser use by up to 60% and water consumption by as much as 90%, in line with the National Water Strategy 2030 and the Kingdom’s wider sustainability goals.
Ayman Al-Sayed, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Madinah, said the project demonstrates how modern agricultural technology can boost efficiency, improve food security, and enhance the competitiveness of Saudi produce in local and global markets.
