New Agreement Signed to Enhance Waste Management in North Sinai
The deal includes 1,000 240-litre bins and new collection containers, with operations run by the regulator and local authorities.
A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Waste Management Regulatory Authority (WMRA) and Sinai Cement with the aim of enhancing waste management systems in North Sinai. Under the agreement, Sinai Cement will supply 1,000 waste-collection containers (each of 240-litre capacity) for North Sinai, while WMRA will work with local authorities to oversee deployment and operation. The protocol also includes training programmes for personnel, monitoring technologies, performance reporting and community-awareness campaigns on proper waste-management practices. The agreement is part of ongoing efforts in North Sinai to improve the collection, processing and oversight of municipal waste, aligning with broader waste-management goals in the governorate.
