Omar Samra Celebrates Milestone With Pledge to Palestine & Lebanon
The Egyptian adventurer pledged EGP 200,000 to Palestine and Lebanon relief funds, inviting his followers to donate as well.
Prolific Egyptian adventurer and entrepreneur Omar Samra marked reaching 200,000 followers on Instagram by pledging EGP 200,000 - one pound for every follower who has supported him - to the people of Palestine and Lebanon.
The amount will be split between two relief funds for Palestine and Lebanon, with Samra encouraging his followers to contribute as well.
Samra has garnered widespread recognition as the first Egyptian to summit Mount Everest and climb the highest peak on every continent. He has broken numerous records, extensively written about his adventures in both English and Arabic, and frequently spoken about the power of travel, particularly solo travel, as a tool for self-discovery.
For his charitable contribution, Samra donated to PalCollective, an organisation made up of global volunteers supporting families in Gaza by providing clean water, clothing and essential supplies. He also contributed to Human Appeal, a nonprofit organisation based in Lebanon that operates globally to combat poverty, social injustice and natural disasters. Human Appeal focuses on providing relief programs that not only offer immediate aid but also create self-sustaining solutions for long-term support in affected communities.
In his video, Samra emphasised that donations can take different forms. For those unable to contribute financially, he called on his followers to donate their time through volunteering, reinforcing the importance of collective action in times of crisis, and using influence for meaningful change.
